Help Us Buy a Van!

We have outgrown our own vehicles! As an organization run by volunteers, we have used our own vehicles to transport food to and from UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Our cars are bursting at the seams!

We need to raise enough money to get a van to transport food to people who need it.

Will you help us reach our goal?

Would You Like to Host a FOOD DRIVE?

It feels good to give to others.

Many of our donors give monetary donations that help us purchase food, pay the rent, buy supplies, and other necessary operational expenses. DONATE

And a lot of our donors like to donate food items.  It helps to see the direct path from the store to the hospital.

Also, if you are interested in organizing a food drive that will directly help families who are with their sick or injured children, follow the steps below:

  • 1 Organize 5 or more people to collect food with you! It could be your neighbors, family members, church groups, etc. Send them a text, email, or call them and let them know what you want to do and why it’s important. Remind them that everyone benefits when mom and dad aren’t “hangry.”
  • 2 Set a date, time, and place that you will collect food. You could even offer to come to their house and pick up the food if they leave it on a porch or covered area. Make it EASY for them to donate.
  • 3 Give them a list of approved foods and ask them to make sure they have expiration dates that are at least six months out. This is important because we are giving to a hospital and their standards are very rigorous.
  • 4 Collect the food!
  • 5 Take a pic of all the food you collected and send to us. We will post you and/or your group on our social media!
  • 6 Once you have collected the food let us know. You can email us at office@christopherskitchen.org. We have office space in Ben Avon and we can meet you there to unload food and give you a receipt.
  • 7 Thank You! Make sure to let your donors know how much we appreciate their kind hearts.
  • 8 Feel good knowing that you helped a stressed mom or dad who is in a tough situation. Thank you!

Volunteers are the ❤️ heart ❤️ of our organization.
